2010-10-23 Get Ready for Mid-term Exam

This week's assignment is different from what you did before.  Please make sure you do it as required.

1. For all the new characters (生字)in Lesson One and Lesson Two, write TWICE the character, its 部首,注音,and 漢語拼音(Pinyin). There are 32 characters in total.

2. Study for mid-term exam

To be honest, the exam is a bit challenging, but I think you'll have fun doing it (as long as you 用功).
There are 4 pages, and it includes the following categories:

a. Fill in the blanks with missing Chinese characters.  You'll get 注音 for the blanks, and you need to write correct Chinese characters based on the meaning of the sentence.

b. Corrections: Read the sentences, pick out the wrong characters, and write the correct ones in the blanks.

c. Synonyms: Circle the synonym for the phrase underlined.

d. Circle the correct word/phrase.

e. Fill in the blanks with correct phrase, which you can pick from the word bank given.

f. Write down the 部首,注音,and Pinyin for some Chinese characters (from this week's homework).

g. Make a sentence.

Study tips:

1. 生字:Know how to write the character, its 注音, Pinyin,and 部首。
2. 詞語:Understand the phrases, especially those listed in the part of 句型練習。Know the meaning and usage.
3. Study the Workbook.
4. Review the quizzes.

The categories on the quiz include: matching, picking the correct word, filling in the blanks, and sentence making.

2010-10-09 作文:我的房間 for 演講比賽

五年級的課本內容很多,加上還要準備演講比賽,時間實在不夠用,希望大家在家可以多多用功,如果只靠每個星期六上課兩個小時,很難學得好。

這星期的作業:

1. Workbook 2-2.

2. Complete essay "我的房間".
If you can, please hand it in this Saturday, so that I'll have time to correct and return it to you next week.  After you have your essay with my comments/corrections back, you have to copy the revised version down on another piece of paper.  Then, you can start memorizing it, and prepare for the speech contest.  I hope we can have a "rehersal" in our class before the contest day.


3. Optional: study the new characters and words/phrases on p. 20.

這個星期的作業:

1. 課本第十八頁的生字:抄寫一次;詞語抄寫一次,並寫出英文意思。別忘了,也要寫注音。
    p. 18, copy new characters once; all phrases once with English translation.  Don't forget phonetics.

2. 讀“課文” 三次。 Read text 3 times.

3. Workbook 2-1.

4. Quiz on p.18--new characters and phrases.
