For this week, please complete the "book project" we started last Saturday.

Write the following sentences, filling the blanks, one on each page. Decorate your little book with your own drawings.

              (Fill in the blanks, using last Saturday's date.)

Page 2：我住在明州。

               (You can write down more than one item.)

For your term project:

1. Complete your essay, and write/type it on paper, using as many Chinese characters as you can.

2. Memorize and make an oral presentation in class.

3. I'll video tape your presentation if you want to. Bring a flash drive to class so that I can give you a copy of your video.

2010-04-24 Homework--Making sentences

For this week's assignment, complete #4 of the handout titled "2010.04.17-IQChinese Lesson 8."

A. Sentence pattern:

    你什麼時候要 V？ (When are you going to V?)
    ex. 你什麼時候要睡覺？ (When are you going to sleep?)

B. Terms to use: 吃飯 / 洗澡 / 做功課 / 彈鋼琴 / 回家 / 刷牙 /

==>  Plug the phrases into the sentence pattern and make 6 sentences.   WRITE (not type) the sentences and their English translations on paper.

==> Read out the sentences loud, three times each.

Term Project:

For your term project, write a self-introduction essay (or if you like, pick up another topic). Review the sentence patterns and words you've learned, and try to use as many different words/patterns as you can. Please start your draft now. I'll review your draft with you on 05/08. On 05/15, you will make an oral presentation on the essay. (It's ok to type.)

2010-04-17 Homework

1. Study the handout I gave you Saturday. Read the sentences below 5 times (They are from IQ Chinese -Lesson 8). Make sure you understand the sentence patterns, especially the last two.

請問現在幾點鐘？= 請問現在幾點？

下午三點五十分。

還有十分四點鐘。（Ten more minutes to four o'clock.)

四點半時我要走。(I'm leaving at 4:30.)

2. Write those words 3 times：

2010-04-10 Homework & Word Contest

On 04/17 we'll have a Word Recognition Contest. The rules for our class are:

1. Everyone has 30 seconds for 10 Chinese word cards, which will be drawn randomly and laid out on the table.

2. You have to read out the Chinese word/phrase and then say its English meaning.

3. For each card, you get 1 point for clear Chinese pronunciation and 1 point for correct English meaning.

4. There will be 2 rounds of contests and the two scores will be added up.

5. The top 3 winners will be awarded.

So, this week's homework is to prepare for the contest. All the words/phrases that will be used for the contest are on the list I gave you a few weeks ago.
